About the Melbourne Section of the Victorian Apiarists' Association

The Melbourne Section of the Victorian Apiarists' Association helps beekeepers to manage their hives,
particularly in an urban environment.

All beekeepers and prospective beekeepers in Melbourne and surrounding areas are invited to become members of our club.
We
    • Conduct beekeeper meetings each month (except December).
    • Liaise with the Victorian Apiarists’ Association (VAA).
    • Manage the library of the Victorian Apiarists’ Association.
    • Conduct a mentor program for new beekeepers.
    • Promote the participation of our members at the VAA exhibition at the Royal Melbourne Show.
    • In conjunction with the Collingwood Children’s Farm, manage their apiary in order
- to educate the public about bees and beekeeping, and
- to provide beekeeping advice and practical training to current and prospective beekeepers.
    • Celebrate the end of the calendar year with a BBQ in December
